Open Water Diver Course

Take This Course If You Want to:

  • Explore the other 70 percent of our planet
  • Support ocean protection
  • See things you’ve never seen before
  • Learn from a scuba diving expert
  • Carry the world’s most recognized scuba certification

Learn How to:

  • Be a confident and skilled diver
  • Assemble and use scuba gear
  • Manage your buoyancy
  • Respectfully approach marine life
  • Handle common problems

Prerequisites: Able to swim; medically fit for diving (a doctor’s sign-off may be required, I will provide you with more information on this when you enroll), reasonably comfortable in the water

Total time commitment: ~4 days plus 5-10 hours to complete the E-Learning (if it takes longer to master the skills then additional time may be required, but 4 days it typically sufficient).

Minimum age: 10 years or older

Depth: expect training dives up to ~12m/40ft, the maximum allowed depth is 18m/60ft

Additional items necessary: You will need to purchase or rent mask, fins, booties, and snorkel. I can assist you with finding quality gear locally at a reasonable price (I HIGHLY recommend against purchasing cheap snorkel packages online as they are normally not suitable for scuba diving).

PADI® Open Water Diver is the first scuba certification level. I will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, supportive learning environment.

By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge to safely dive with a certified buddy at home or abroad and be an ambassador for the underwater world.
